Trouble in RISC OS Paradise? |
It seems only moments since the RISC OS community celebrated the release of the new RISC OS Adjust ROMs. New features and faster Boot times were giving RISC OS 4 machines (mainly RiscPCs and A7000s) a new lease of life.
However, this all seems to have turned sour, as Castle Technology (licence owners and developers of the IYONIX PC) announced that they have revoked the licence from RISC OS Ltd (RO4 developers) and accuse them of breaking the agreement.
With this comes the dashing news that new computers, like the A75 have had to be withdrawn from sale, as has Virtual RiscPC, an emulated version of RISC OS that runs on Windows. Particularly the latter will have a potentially devastating impact on many firms selling laptops to RISC OS users. The links below take you to 'Drobe', where all the action is:
